Current Trends in the Biomedical Sciences Course Description

The purpose of the seminar series is to bring together undergraduate science and business students to learn how these disciplines merge in companies that commercialize bioscience products. Serving as faculty will be senior executives of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.

The goal of this series is to educate the science and business students who will be the entrepreneurs and senior bioscience company executives of the future. Teaching undergraduates how science and business work together in bioscience companies will give them an advantage over most students whose introduction to this unique interaction is when they join a company. The program also will make these students aware of the many job opportunities available in Georgia. Other benefits include fostering development of an applied technology and business-oriented culture in the universities while training potential management-level employees for local companies.
